A clean building every morning — and a report that proves it
Otherhand cleans shopping centres, stations, warehouses and public buildings. At night, robots clean the large floor areas and our crews take care of the details. You pay per clean square metre and get a quality report by zone every morning.
Why Otherhand
We are a cleaning company, not a robot vendor. We are responsible for the result: a clean building before the working day starts.
You pay for the result
The price is per clean square metre under a monthly contract — not per hour of labour. We agree the scope and cleaning standard for every zone.
Quality checked daily, not quarterly
After every shift we measure quality using robot and camera data. Across the industry, quality is usually checked by hand, through spot checks once a quarter.
Fixed before opening
If a zone falls below the standard, the crew cleans it again before the working day begins. You see it in the morning report.
One contractor for all cleaning
Robots clean large floor areas; people take care of toilets, kitchens, escalators and the finer details. One shift, one contract, one account manager.
No downtime
If a robot breaks down, we replace it before the next shift. The equipment risk is on us — the contracted cleaning always gets done.
No more than you pay today
Robots take over the routine work, which lets us price at or below a regular contractor — with daily quality control on top.
How we work
From request to first shift takes about a month. We start with a pilot in part of the building.
Request and site visit
You send us the building details. We visit, measure the areas and map the zones. Free of charge.
Proposal and pilot
Price per m², cleaning standard per zone and a shift plan. We start with a one-month pilot.
Night shift
Robots clean the floors of large halls; the crew cleans toilets, kitchens and the details. An operator monitors the robots remotely.
Morning report
Quality by zone, what the crew did and what was fixed. Plus a monthly summary for contract management.
Every morning, a report on quality — not on metres covered
Rented robots report the area they have covered, not whether it is actually clean. We measure the result.

Buildings we clean
Best suited to buildings with large areas of flat floor that can be cleaned outside opening hours.
Shopping centres
Galleries, food courts, entrances, car parks
Stations and transport hubs
Waiting halls, passageways, platforms
Warehouses and logistics
Aisles, receiving and dispatch areas

Lobbies, corridors, sports halls
We work with municipalities, government agencies and public organisations
We understand public procurement and prepare the documents it requires. You can start with a pilot in one building.
Tenders and procurement
We take part in open and restricted procedures. The KPIs from our daily reports give you a ready basis for contract monitoring.
Data and security
Data stored in the EU, GDPR-compliant, with a DPIA before launch. On request: a private cloud and an isolated network on site.
Choice of equipment
On request we use robots from European and other non-Chinese manufacturers. We quote that option separately.
Social responsibility
We don't cut jobs: we retrain cleaners as robot operators — a new profession. We are ready to meet Social Return (SROI) requirements.
Safety on site
CE-marked robots. We do not modify navigation or safety functions — they remain the manufacturer's responsibility under the EU Machinery Regulation.
A pilot without long commitments
One month in part of the building, with measurements before and after. You decide on a full contract based on the results.
Working alongside people, not replacing them
Robots clean floors, and that is only part of the work in a building. People do the rest. We reorganise the shift: robots on large areas at night, people where hands are needed, and operators who monitor the robots remotely.
That is what our name stands for: Otherhand — an extra pair of hands for buildings designed for people.
Our own AI layer on top of the robots
We buy robots from leading manufacturers. What we build ourselves is the system on top: it plans the shift, monitors quality and prepares the reports.

Learns from every shift
When a robot gets stuck, an operator steps in. Each intervention becomes a training example, so over time the robots work more independently.
Safety stays untouched
The AI layer works on top of the robot, not inside it. Navigation and safety functions stay with the manufacturer.
Sensors measure quality
Cleanliness is scored by cameras and robot data, not by the opinion of a language model.
Your data under control
Stored in the EU. For sensitive sites, a local model: the data never leaves your environment.
From floor cleaning to robot staff
The world is built for people, and nobody is going to rebuild it. We are preparing robots that work in buildings as they are — step by step, and only after they have proven themselves in pilots.

Frequently asked questions
What happens if a robot breaks down?
We replace it before the next shift. The contracted cleaning still gets done — by the crew if needed. Repairs and servicing are our responsibility.
Are the robots safe for visitors and staff?
We only use certified, CE-marked robots. They stop for people and obstacles. Most of the work happens at night or before opening, and we never modify navigation or safety functions.
Are there cameras, and what happens to the data?
Cameras are used only to assess cleanliness. Before launch we carry out a DPIA and inform visitors; there is no facial recognition, and the data is stored in the EU. For public-sector clients: a private cloud and an isolated network on request.
Do we need to change anything in the building?
No. We need access at the agreed times, a place to store and charge the robots, and a power socket. We provide the robots' connectivity ourselves.
Can we start small?
Yes. We usually start with a one-month pilot in part of the building, measuring quality before and after.
Which areas do you cover?
We are starting in the Randstad: Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague. Other regions of the Netherlands on request.
